Best Burger In Austin Debate: It’s On!
“So you’ll get a kick out of this, or you’ll hate me. I couldn’t make dinner on Monday because the attorneys, all from Austin, got in an argument about where the best burgers and best cupcakes were in our fair capital.”
-Text received from BaronVonCrunkTurns out they decided on Hut’s for burgers
and Sugar Momma’s for Cupcakes.Agree or Disagree?
I don’t care about the cupcake debate, but burgers — now, there’s a discussion that I’ve had with my friends several times. Hut’s is a fine establishment and has the best veggie burgers (IMO), but I wouldn’t place it on the top of my list for the real deal. Now, what you classify as the BEST burger all depends on your tastebuds. For those who love the greasy ratburgers found in diners, you cannot beat Dirty’s:

For the best selection of specialty burgers, I’ve always picked Phil’s Ice House. Their 78704 burger is out of this world (Monterrey Jack cheese, jalapeños, grilled onions, sliced avocado, and chipotle mayo on a toasted jalapeño cheese bun) and is my personal favorite here in town:

However, when you’re drunk on Sixth Street and need the kill off a rising burger fixation, Casino El Camino will do you good:

For a straight up burger with all the fixings — Hill’s Cafe is the best in town. I believe that you can get the same burger at The Tavern due to it being run by the same people, but I’m not postive. I don’t think you’ll find anything that beats it:

There you go. My two cents have been added in.
