Anonymous asked: Twentysomething *girls*? No, twentysomethings are women. And moronic? Wow. That's a little judgmental don't ya think? It is in fact a show targeting women of that age group, but moronic? No, this is just what women like. I have seen the pilot, too, and as a woman of 20, with friends the same age, I can tell you this is actually what women want to see. It does not make us moronic, just girly.
I think I know a little bit about what women want. Afterall, I own the Mel Gibson movie on VHS.
To be honest, those print ads are what really bothered me the most. I don’t know enough about Whitney Cummings to have an issue with her trying to break into the mainstream audience. I was just more annoyed at seeing four pages, one after another, completely sabotaging the show’s possible success. I’d love to have been in the room while the marketing team went through photo after photos to figure out which male-female poses went the best with each lame joke on the ad.
Personally, I found out that Whitney is just another show that’s filled with disgustingly tired pablum and boring comedy but is written to appeal towards “girly” twentysomething women. It ain’t for me, but I watch and enjoy professional wrestling so my point is (probably) moot.
