I talked a big game yesterday.
I promised a steam rollin’. A squash match. A complete domination.  Truth be told, I didn’t actually expect REAL competition.  I am sad to announce that there was a public emasculation on Austin radio this morning, and this guy was the poor sap who was brutally castrated.
I was competing in a “Know Your Morning Show” game for 3-Day ACL passes on the Dudley and Bob radio program. Quite frankly, it’s a hack bit that the show rarely ever does, but they seemingly wanted to reward hardcore listeners as opposed to giving away the $300 tickets to a random person calling in. I didn’t embarrass myself and impressed the radio crew, but eventually I Romo’d in the final round and let this knockout named Anne take the prize from me.
Based on the number of texts, emails, and Twitter messages, friends and non-listeners to the D&B show really dug it and felt for me during my complete choke during a crucial moment which lead to my loss.  I’ll ended up posting an edited version here eventually, but you can easily find the entire bit here on the D&B podcast page (segment starts at the end of part 2 and finishes up on part 3).
However, I did manage to get in a quick plug for the KGBcast, and was ended up being completely surprised that one of the co-hosts knew of us! Turns out, Matt Bearden listened to our latest show and gave it a thumbs up — he had no idea I was the person behind it.  Verrry strange moment as he’s an Austin comedian who I make it a point to catch anytime I possibly can.  Definitely a geeking out moment for us.
Even without winning the ACL passes, I still ended up enjoying going through a couple of segments on my favorite radio show.  Thanks for all the messages and well-wishes from everyone on here too.  I’m sorry that I failed.
